ROTARY GUIDE TO ADIRONDACK CANOE ROUTES 30 ONE-DAY CANOE TRIPS WITHIN 35 MILES OF TUPPER LAKE |
|
Western | Southern | Northeastern | Area Location Map | Home Page Use the accompanying maps to locate sites and routes. Canoe trips are numbered within three sections (Western, Southern and Northeastern), and centered on Tupper Lake. The topographical map quadrangle or other source of detailed information is cited for each trip. The Adirondack Canoe Map is also an excellent resource, covering the St. Regis Canoe Area and Rainbow Lake, the Saranac Lakes, the Racquette River, Fulton Chain of Eight Lakes, and Tupper Lake at scales of 1"= 1mile and 1"= ½ mile. It is published by Plinth, Quoin and Cornice Associates, Keene Valley, NY in 1987. It is available in Adirondack bookstores. The purpose of this guide is to identify locations at which you can plan some very nice trips that can be accomplished in one day. For detailed trip planning, you should consult the maps and guides we reference. This guide should NOT be your sole source of planning information. We have not provided information concerning mileage, duration and the need for dropping a vehicle at the takeout point, since there are many options possible at each trip location, including opportunities for camping should your time permit. ENJOY YOUR DAY AND CANOE SAFELY |
