The Adventure Begins

This trail starts at Coreys which by car can be reached by turning south from Route 3, the Tupper Lake-Saranac Lake highway, about 9 miles east of the Tupper Lake Village. Automobiles may be driven 7 miles further on the Ampersand Road to a large parking lot. From here the real adventure begins. It's a 26.35 mile hike from the parking lot to the summit of  Mount Marcy. Come prepared with warm clothing and over-night gear for this trip. During the summer months the few lean-tos available are often occupied, so it's wise to bring a tent.
